We Praise Thee O God
Since I'm not going to be in our Lutheran church this Thanksgiving:

When perils overtake us, escape Thou will make us,
And with Thy help, O Lord, our battles we win.
"With voices united our praises we offer,
To Thee, great Jehovah, glad anthems we raise.
Thy strong arm will guide us, our God is beside us,
To Thee, our great Redeemer, forever be praise."

Good to see Julia Cory's Thanksgiving hymn posted. (Today is the 127th anniversary of her birth.) I expect that with American Thanksgiving coming in a couple of weeks, the hymn will get some use. And does your comment mean that you'll miss church altogether on Thanksgiving? That would be too bad. But of course we can give thanks to the Lord for his blessings anywhere, any time. God bless.
